The BHS Dance Team had a wonderful experience at the 2010 UDA Dance Camp at the Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, Illinois. The team showed off their killer hip- hop routine at the camp Monday, July 26th, earning a Superior Blue Ribbon. The dancers also performed a variety of dance styles during the camp. Five of our BHS dancers earned UDA All-American honors. They are: Lexi Brown, Kayla Bruneman, Karolina Krakowiak, Abby Scott and Candice Williams.

Additional Tryout & Parent Meeting

Bartlett High School Varsity Dance Team is pleased to announce that returning Coach Meagen Balzer will be holding an additional tryout for the 2010-2011 School year.

Clinics will be held on June 29^th and 30^th from 10:00am – Noon with tryouts on July 1^st 10:00am at the Bartlett High dance room. Members who already made the team for this year do not need to attend.

Parent meeting for all existing and new members will be held on Thursday, June 24^th at 7:00pm at the Bartlett Community Center in Program Room #1. Any questions please email Meagen Balzer at meagenbalzer@u-46.org.

Peoria State- The countdown begins…

The tentative schedule for State has been posted. Please remember that this schedule can still change. TDI has a State Information Packet that gives general information on the Pre-Party on March 6th, parking, programs ($8), seating, tickets, etc. The last day to pre-order tickets is March 3rd. The address to the Peoria Civic Center is 201 S.W. Jefferson Ave., Peoria, IL 61602-1448.

CONGRATULATIONS to all of the girls on their amazing performances at the Geneva competition and for qualifying for state in lyrical! Great Job! All of your hard work is paying off. Thank you to Coach Balija for your positivity and dedication. Now it’s on to PEORIA!!!

Plainfield East Competition

Bartlett High School Varsity Dance Team members earned two second place trophies at their first competition of the season on Sunday, January 10. The team’s lyrical routine finished second at the Plainfield East High School competition. Their hip hop routine placed second and earned an invitation to the State competition this March.

Youth Dance Workshop A Success!

On September 26th, the Bartlett High School Varsity Dance Team hosted their very popular Youth Dance Workshop. Girls from kindergarten thru eighth grade enjoyed the day by learning a dance taught by the Varsity members, meeting new friends and spending time with the Varsity girls. The day ended with each group performing their new dance for a large audience of family, friends and neighbors. The costume sale was a huge success too! Take a look at the fun!
